The rise of Generative AI, and its ability to generate text, images, videos, and other content, presents significant challenges for instructors. As the University continues to respond to this evolving influence on teaching and learning we are ready to provide support.
During the summer of 2026, the GenAI in Teaching and Learning (GAITL) Phase 2 Committee was formed to support instructors seeking to develop a clear AI policy for their students. The committee developed a number of syllabus statement examples reflecting distinct approaches and an AI Policy Explorer web tool to help instructors draft an AI policy statement for the syllabus.
The Sheridan Center offers a number of resources, programs, and services, to support instructors as they engage with pedagogical questions around the use of Generative AI in teaching and learning.
