The Harriet W. Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning

Peer-led Tutoring

The Peer-led Tutoring Program supports a select number of large, foundational gateway courses in STEM, quantitative social sciences, and languages.

The program offers small, collaborative learning groups designed to deepen students’ understanding of course material. To support this goal, tutors create inclusive learning environments that address diverse student needs through customized lesson plans, interactive group activities such as problem-solving exercises, and opportunities for peer feedback.

Students are encouraged to submit requests for group tutoring during the Open Access period beginning Monday, February 2, through 11:59 PM Wednesday, February 4.

  • Students are encouraged to submit requests for tutoring at any time during Open Access. The time of submission does not guarantee immediate placement in a tutoring group.

Seat and waitlist notifications: Thursday, February 5

Group sessions begin: Sunday, February 8

Last day to request tutoring: Friday, April 17

Tutoring ends for the semester: Tuesday, May 5

Group tutoring sessions are scheduled between the hours of 12-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 12-5 p.m. on Friday. We do our best to offer various group sessions, but students may need to alter their schedules to accommodate the available tutoring sessions.

Request Group Tutoring

Students are assigned to small groups that meet weekly to review important or difficult topics covered in class that week.
