The Harriet W. Sheridan Center for Teaching and Learning

Junior Faculty Teaching Fellows

The Sheridan Junior Faculty Teaching Fellows program is a yearlong, cohort-based learning community that provides the opportunity for a small group of junior faculty from across the disciplines to come together to reflect upon and discuss their teaching and their students’ learning with Sheridan staff.

Throughout the year, Fellows participate in seven reading group discussion sessions on key topics of higher education pedagogy, including equitable teaching, learning design, student engagement, and assessment. Fellows will also have the chance to select additional topics as a group.

Each semester, fellows also participate in peer teaching observations and discuss the insights and ideas gained from the experience. Participants also receive feedback on their teaching through a course observation or early student feedback session and one-on-one consultation with Sheridan staff.

Fellows are celebrated each year at the University Teaching Awards Ceremony and will receive a $500 research stipend after completing the program. Please note that participants must complete all required components of the program in order to receive the research stipend.

We welcome applications from lecturers and assistant professors. The program is limited to 8 faculty members and admission is based on the application, so please fill it out carefully. Applications for the 2024-2025 program year must be received no later than August 26th, 2024.
