Prior to joining Brown, Mara leveraged her language and creative background in K-12, empowering ESL students to develop their English language skills in a new cultural and academic landscape. Her work developing innovative communications solutions was instrumental in not only bridging the communication gap but also in equipping students to confidently access new learning technologies. Mara’s passion lies at the intersection of education, technology, and design. She holds a BA in English from Bridgewater State University.

Beyond education, Mara also channels her creativity into the arts, most often through multimedia illustration and photography.
