Kevin Pan
Biography
Hi! My name is Kevin, and I’m a sophomore currently concentrating in Computer Science-Economics. I love thinking about learning and teaching. As a Problem Solving Fellow, I primarily work on the S/NC and Who is a Brown Stem Student? research projects, and I co-lead the Translating Teaching Experience to the Job Market career workshop. I’m particularly interested in exploring methods for creating inclusive and supportive learning environments at Brown and beyond.
Outside of being a PSF, I will be TA’ing CS111 next semester. I’m also a longtime chess player and have been a chess coach for 5 years. Taking UNIV1110 has definitely given me fascinating perspectives to view teaching from and has enriched my approach to teaching as a whole. I’m also particularly interested in AI/ML research, especially related to AI safety and the medical domain, and have previous experience researching pediatric medical AI.
Apart from academics, I enjoy playing video games and poker, and I’m also a big racket sport enthusiast—mainly tennis and pickleball.
Happy to chat about any of my PSF work (or anything else)—please feel free to email me!
