Prior to joining Brown, Kay (they/them) was the Senior Instructional Designer at Curry College, where they worked to coordinate faculty development, support educational technology, and develop accessible, innovative course content for neurodiverse populations. Before their time at Curry, they worked as the Director of Instructional Design at Cleary University in Michigan, where they led a team of designers and subject matter experts in the design and revision of undergraduate and graduate business courses. They have also worked in accessibility services, writing and tutoring centers, and within teams focused on programmatic outcome assessment and development.
Kay’s enthusiasm for accessible, learner-centered design drives their collaborative efforts, bringing together culturally responsive pedagogies and technology-assisted communication to create courses where students and instructors can learn and grow together.
Kay is a doctoral candidate (ABD) at Walden University, where they are working on a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy. They also hold an MPhil in Higher Education Leadership and Policy from Walden and an M.Ed in Instructional Design and Technology from the American College of Education.
