John earned his Ed.M. from Boston University, where he also taught ESL and a graduate course in computer-assisted language learning, designed and managed computer labs for a large intensive English program, and managed IT service and support for Global Programs, which included a large study abroad program with extensive global operations. He conducted workshops in the pedagogically effective use of technology in language learning and presentation design and delivery. His published works include an ESL reader of original stories (in print for 15 years) and a text for teaching language with computers (both Univ. of Michigan Press). He also has extensive experience in print and web design, UI/UX design, instructional design, curricular design, content and media development, and faculty development. 

At the School of Professional Studies, he led the design and development of MOOCs for Brown’s edX courses (BrownX) and continues to lead the course design for the M.S. in Healthcare Leadership.
