Falak Pabari

Senior concentrating in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science

Biography

Hi! I’m Falak, a senior at Brown studying Applied Math and Computer Science. I am deeply passionate about applying quantitative tools, particularly from statistics and computer science, to important problems in biology and medicine. I currently work in Professor Singh’s lab, contributing to research on modeling biological aging using methylation data.

As a Problem Solving Fellow, in addition to contributing to other projects, I am leading and collaborating on the New Educational Environment project, which explores how students engage in real-world problem solving across diverse cultural and geographic contexts. I am especially interested in inclusive STEM learning approaches that emphasize confidence-building, collaboration, and clarity.

I have TA’ed for CS200 and MATH200, and I will be TA’ing DATA1050 next semester. Taking UNIV1110 has fundamentally shaped my approach to teaching, not just as content delivery, but as a way to create equitable and empowering learning environments.

Outside of academics, I am an Indian classical dancer, and I also love baking and playing pickleball! Please feel free to reach out about anything, course design, teaching strategies, PSF projects, or just to connect.
