Biography

Prior to joining the Sheridan Center, Eric was Assistant Director for Faculty Development at the University of Rhode Island. In 2018, he and Holly Swanson received the Menges Award for Outstanding Research in Educational Development from the Professional and Organizational Development Network for Higher Education for their research on the Ace-Your-Course Challenge, a campus-wide strategy to improve student metacognition. From 2014 to 2015, he served as Interim Director of the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at SUNY Brockport. Prior to entering the field of educational development, he taught sociology at SUNY Brockport and Temple University.

Eric holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from Rutgers University, an M.A. in Social Sciences from the University of California at Irvine, and a B.A. in Anthropology from Cornell University.
