Biography

David Harrisville holds a BA from Carleton College and a PhD in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also taught, tutored, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship. He conducted historical research in Germany and Israel, culminating in the book, The Virtuous Wehrmacht: Crafting the Myth of the German Soldier on the Eastern Front, 1941-1944 (Cornell University Press, 2021). From 2018-2019, he served as Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Furman University.  Before joining the staff at Brown, he served as Information Technology Learning Specialist at Legal Services Corporation, where he designed and delivered training programs for adult learners, both online and in person.
