Christine holds a doctorate in English Literature from Brown University. She has taught and worked in the field of digital education for over ten years. She also writes on food and domestic cultural history. Her work has been featured by Bon Appétit, Dissent, the British Broadcasting Corporation, and she has appeared on Heritage Radio Network’s A Taste of the Past. Her book Fermented Foods: The History and Science of a Microbiological Wonder will be published by Reaktion Books (distributed by University of Chicago Press) in 2021. She is currently at work on a book on the history and science of fasting.
