Biography

Anna Barsan is a filmmaker, visual artist, and educator.

Prior to joining Brown, Anna worked as a freelance director and editor, creating content for clients including New Balance, The New Yorker, TEDx Talks, The Game Awards, and the Guggenheim Museum. As an educator, she has taught film production at the undergraduate and graduate levels and has facilitated media literacy workshops for high schools, nonprofits, and community organizations in the United States and abroad.

As an independent filmmaker, Anna’s work has screened at the Sundance Film Festival, the Chicago International Film Festival, and the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival, among others.

She holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Michigan and an M.A. in Film and Media Studies from The New School.
